  3.                        ABC FUN KEYS REVISION HISTORY

  6.      I owe a great deal of thanks to many users of the ABC FUN KEYS
  7.      program for their ideas which you see incorporated below.  I
  8.      sincerely welcome any suggestions you may have that will make
  9.      this program more enjoyable for little children.
  10.  
  11.      ABC FUN KEYS VER. 4.20
  12.      ----------------------
  13.        *  Modified the opening "childs" menu to allow easier and more
  14.           intuitive entry into the setup features of the program. 
  15.           Setup and Help are now Ctrl-S and Ctrl-H respectively.
  16.  
  17.        *  Changed the animation technique in Heaven and Mud.  As a
  18.           result, pictures cross over each other better and move more
  19.           realistically to heaven or mud.  Animation is smoother.
  20.  
  21.        *  Minor changes were made to the automatic speed selection in
  22.           Heaven and Mud.  Performance is better on XT class
  23.           computers.
  24.  
  25.        *  Changed the "Please Press a Key" window in Game 4 (Select)
  26.           to a graphic image.  Keys that do not have a picture file
  27.           associated with them like "%" now have a graphic image of
  28.           the key displayed on the screen.  The earlier error message
  29.           has been eliminated.

  31.        *  Added a surprise picture to the win and lose endings of
  32.           Heaven and Mud.
  33.  
  34.        *  Changed the "0" "O" and "i" "j" confusing typefaces in
  35.           Heaven and Mud to more easily distinguished symbols.

  37.        *  Removed Num-Lock key from program use.  It used to shut off
  38.           the sound.  Unfortunately, it was confusing to many people.
  39.  
  40.        *  Rearranged many pictures to display better graphics in the
  41.           Hercules monochrome mode.
  42.  
  43.        *  Made the scrolling lyrics go completely across the top of
  44.           the screen instead of the upper left corner.
  45.  
  46.        *  Added a command line switch to turn off the scrolling lyrics
  47.           for the nursery rhyme songs.
  48.  
  49.        *  Made speed changes in Heaven and Mud "semi-permanent" until
  50.           the ABC is exited.  Speed / performance changes done in
  51.           setup are permanent as always.
  52.  
  53.        *  A few small bugs were fixed like new routines for turning
  54.           the cursor on and off -- hopefully no more lost cursor on a
  55.           few graphics boards.  Also fixed an inappropriate use of
  56.           color in one of the monochrome mode help screens.

  61.        *  Added the command line parameter /T to allow the user to
  62.           adjust the tempo of the nursery rhyme songs.
  63.  
  64.        *  Made a slight change to correct an "operational
  65.           inconsistency" that caused a return to the adult setup menu
  66.           on succeeding games.  (Nice euphemism for bug.)

  71.        *  Added a feature to the control panel to allow the number of
  72.           pictures played in a game to be limited.  At the end of the
  73.           selected number of pictures, the "childs" menu is displayed.

  75.        *  Fixed a small bug that caused the command line parameter /Q
  76.           (totally quiet operation) not to work correctly. (Blush)

  81.        *  Added on-screen scrolling lyrics for all twenty-seven
  82.           nursery rhyme songs.
  83.  
  84.        *  Many of the nursery rhyme melodies have been revised and
  85.           improved.  * MANY THANKS * to Jeff Elhai of East Lansing,
  86.           Michigan for these corrections and improvements!  Jeff also
  87.           provided many of the other suggestions which have been
  88.           incorporated in this latest release.  Thank you Jeff!

  90.        *  Shut off NUM Lock, Scroll Lock, and Caps Lock upon initial
  91.           entry to program to avoid confusion with several features.

  93.        *  Added functional arrow keys to the opening kids menu.

  95.        *  Added adjustable timing for Game 3 and the corresponding
  96.           control panel settings.

  98.        *  Added an option for easy program restart and exit.

  100.        *  Added an option to allow PrtScreen to function.

  102.        *  The number of songs can be set with a command line parameter
  103.           to allow users to add their own songs.

  110.           separate registration instant mailer, an index, hard disk

  117.        *  Program completely re-written in Borland's Turbo C Ver.2.0
  118.           and Mike Smeldey's excellent "CXL Extended Function Library"

  122.           standard.  (This required a lot of code.)
